Despite losing three of their last four regular season games, the ACU Wildcats have made it to the NCAA Division II Playoffs for the fourth consecutive year.
ACU dropped from fourth to sixth in the final regional polls to claim the last available playoff spot in the region. Texas A&M-Kingsville finished just ahead of them in fifth and Tarleton will play host to Kingsville in the first round after claiming the fourth spot. Midwestern who defeated ACU 15-13 on Saturday, jumped from seventh to third in the region.
Central Washington claimed the number one seed and a first round bye in region four, after completing a perfect regular season with a win over Western Oregon. Northwest Missouri will also get a first round bye with a second place finish in the region. The Bearcats capped off a 10-1 season with a blow-out win over Central Missouri. The Bearcats lone loss came at the hands of ACU in the first week of the regular season.
Midwestern will host the Wildcats for the second straight week this Saturday when ACU travels back to Wichita Falls for the first round of playoff action.
