Construction on the new Royce and Pam Money Student Recreation and Wellness Center may noticeably impact Commencement parking.
Bart Herridge, registrar and director of academic records, expects near-capacity crowds for both Commencement services. He said while construction will cause inconveniences in some areas, like parking, they have a plan in place.
“It’s been mildly inconvenient but not insurmountable,” Herridge said.
Construction on the SRWC and ongoing pipeline renovations have greatly reduced parking between the Eager Tennis Pavilion and the Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies Building. Herridge said they are encouraging family and friends to be prepared to park in other lots.
“There’s not much parking,” Herridge said. “The administration is focusing on the library parking lot for many of the visitors attending this weekend’s graduation. We want to remind people of the parking lots behind Elmer Gray and back by the intramural fields.”
Herridge said the best advice would be to arrive early because a lengthy walk may be part of the graduation experience. More information about Commencement and maps of campus can be found at www.acu.edu/campusoffices/registrar/graduation/commencement.html.
