West Texas A&M swept the Wildcats last weekend to close a disappointing season. The Lady Buffs defeated the Wildcats 15-1, 10-5 and 11-2.
ACU finished the season 21-31 overall and 5-12 in the Lone Star Conference South Division. The Buffs improved to 42-12 overall and 14-4 in the division; they won the division for the first time in their program’s history.
In the first game, the Wildcats started the first inning by scoring their only run of the game. The Buffs answered, scoring six in the first and then adding three runs in the next three innings. West Texas run-ruled the Wildcats in five innings, 15-1.
In the second game, ACU gave up four runs in the first before rallying back. They scored one run in the third and two more in the fourth to make the score 4-3. The Buffs, however, scored three in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the fifth to win 10-5.
