Police Log: 09/24/2010

Tuesday, Sept. 14

12 a.m. Someone reported that gas had been stolen from their vehicle while it was parked at the Grove Apartments.

Wednesday, Sept. 15

1:20 p.m. Someone reported an abandoned Ford Taurus blocking the left turn lane at EN 16th and Judge Ely Blvd.

5 p.m. Someone reported a dead dog on Campus Court. ACU Police confirmed and called animal control.

Thursday, Sept. 16

8 a.m. Someone reported the theft of their iPhone.

1:45 a.m. ACU Police contacted a suspicious subject at Cedar Crest and College Drive.

12:57 p.m. An officer met with an ACU employee who had received an offensive text-message/photograph on his cell phone. The officer made a report of the incident.

4:50 p.m. A student crossing Campus Court on his bicycle was struck by a vehicle. The student was OK.

10:15 p.m. Abilene Police reported a noise violation on Cedar Crest. When ACU Police arrived, several men were standing on the curb. ACU Police checked the house and found it to be vacant.

Friday, Sept. 17

2 p.m. Someone reported the theft of their bike.

10:27 p.m. ACU Police responded to a call of two men with a gun near McDonald Residence Hall. ACU Police contacted the men. The investigation revealed the gun was a BB rifle. During the search officers also found marijuana. One of the men was taken into custody for class B posession of marijuana.

Saturday, Sept. 18

9:40 ACU Police assisted Abilene Police with traffic control at the scene of a traffic accident on N. Judge Ely Blvd.

Sunday, Sept. 19

9 p.m. ACU Police assisted Abilene Police with traffic control at a major traffic accident at E. Ambler and Judge Ely Blvd.

Monday, Sept. 20

2:40 p.m. ACU Police assisted Abilene Police with a traffic stop on Cottonwood Street. The passenger was found to be in possession of cocaine and was arrested.

5 p.m. Someone reported the theft of their bike.
