SA tabs Handy as executive secretary of 2011-12

April 29, 2011 by Jeff Craig

Former Students’ Association vice-presidential candidate Katherine Handy will serve as executive secretary for SA in 2011-12.

Handy, junior English major from Plano, said she is looking forward to serving SA and the students next year.

“I am extremely excited I really love SA and I’m excited to be a part of the team next year,” Handy said. “It’s a good team we’ll get a lot of problems fixed.”

During her campaign for vice president, Handy said she wanted to hold SA officers more accountable. She said as secretary she will work toward that end.

“I want to help hold SA members more accountable, as secretary my job is to make sure hours are kept and people are showing up to meetings. I serve as a mediator.”

Handy said she is looking forward to helping SA in whatever ways she can next year.

“I’m really looking at the position as helping out executive officers with anything they need,” Handy said.
