The Student Alumni Association selected four dukes for the King of Campus Court from a pool of senior men nominated by students.
This is the second year for SAA to hold the King of Campus Court competition, a cross between a traditional Homecoming King or Queen competition and a mock-pageant.
The four men chosen as “Dukes” will participate in the Dukes’ Debate on Monday night. The debate allows the candidates to emerge before the student body the week of Homecoming and answer questions that reflect their personality and school spirit.
Aubree Selinger is a senior family studies major from Grapevine and is the president of the Student Alumni Association.
“Last year the Dukes’ Debate was hilarious,” said Selinger. “The moderators ask the dukes some goofy and awkward questions so I think that this year’s participants will have a lot of fun with it.”
The debate will take place in Hart Auditorium Monday night at 7:00 p.m.
“We really hope to have a lot of students come out and support the guys who are putting themselves out there for the sake of comedic fun.” Selinger said.
After the debate, online voting will open for all students at www.acu.edu/king. Voting will close Thursday night and the winner will be announced Friday during Homecoming Chapel.
This year’s Dukes are:
Bryson Shake, senior communication major from Abilene.
J.P. Ralston, senior finance accounting major from Plano.
Brock New, senior communication major from North Richland Hills.
Alexander Brown, senior accounting major from Garland.
