Facility Management partners with Alpha Facility Services

April 22, 2014 by Meigan Gardner

ACU Facility Management is partnering with Alpha Facility Services to survey the campus for the next few weeks in order to keep ACU a beautiful campus.

“We are partnering with Alpha Facility Services to basically get a better understanding of our true deferred maintenance needs,” said Cory Ruff, director of landscaping and grounds. “We’ve got some facilities that date back to 1929 and some as new as 2011 when the rec center was opened.”

Partnering with Alpha Facility Services will not only help ACU now, but their services will help ACU plan for years to come.

“We help set up assessment project standards, conduct the assessment, and then enter all facility data into a program called PlanningDirect,” said Cassy Garcia, marketing manager for Alpha Facilities Solutions. “As soon as the assessment is completed, ACU staff will be able to immediately begin using PlanningDirect as a management tool for budget and capital planning. Most importantly, ACU staff will be able to begin communicating current and future capital needs to maintain facilities. Project plans are supported by data which allow users to measure and then track progress moving forward.”

Alpha Facility Services come highly recommended.

“Alpha is recognized by SchoolDude.com as a certified PlanningDirect Partner,” Garcia said. “We have provided more than 70 PlanningDirect orientations and worked with several PlanningDirect clients to assess their facilities and populate their PlanningDirect module.”

Alpha and ACU have planned together for over a year to work out the logistics for this undertaking.

“We have been in contact with them for over a year, trying to get in budget, and finally we found the resources to make it happen,” Ruff said.

“The main thing we hope to take away from this is the quick start to get all of this information at once,” Ruff said.

"Ending my college education early was always the plan for me, but the things that I have been able to see, experience and examine about ACU’s community were not. I have found immense growth in ACU over the past three and a half years, but ACU still has a long road to climb if it wants to keep catering to students as the world changes around them."
