The men’s basketball team has suffered a blow to its roster with the dismissal of three players.
Freshmen forward Christian Albright and guard K.J. Maura, along with sophomore guard Michael Grant, have been removed from the roster, head coach Joe Golding said Thursday.
“We have dismissed those three players because of a violation of team rules,” Golding said. “We’re going to be about doing the right things and representing the university in a positive way, and that’s why I made the decision to dismiss them from the team.”
Albright and Maura were dismissed from the roster earlier this month for violating team rules.
Albright started in 11 of his 20 games for ACU and averaged 4.2 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game.
Maura appeared in 17 games and averaged 11.5 minutes per game as the backup point guard.
Grant was arrested in Edwards Hall Tuesday for possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
Grant appeared in 25 games for the Wildcats and averaged 8.6 minutes per game off the bench.
