Crutcher Scott Field will celebrate its 25th anniversary by inviting all ACU baseball alumni to campus for the annual Alumni Game. The event will take place on Feb. 6 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. with 28 alumnus scheduled to return for the special day. It will provide an opportunity for the ACU baseball community to step foot onto the newly turfed field after months of construction.
The event is also meant to honor two key, influential people of ACU baseball. Al and Dottie Scott helped spearheaded the campaign to bring baseball back to the campus of Abilene Christian in 1991 after a 12 year absence. The two are considered to be the most important people for ACU baseball over the last 25 years. An opportunity to donate to the endowment of the two will be available.
The former players include Kristian Allen (’00), Seth Spivey (’14), Tyler Eager (’15) and several others, including women’s soccer head coach Casey Wilson, the current coach for the ACU women’s soccer team.
The headlining events of the day is a batting practice and a home run derby, starting at noon. A softball tournament will start afterwards and will go until 4 p.m.
