Two students were arrested near campus Tuesday on multiple charges of possession of illegal substances. Abilene Police Department’s Special Operations division arrested Brendan Richelet, junior marketing major from Coppell, and Noah Massie, junior management major from New Braunfels, at their residence on E.N. 23rd Street.
Richelet was charged with a first-degree felony for manufacture/delivery of substance in penalty group 2, and was found in possession of 16 grams of cocaine, meth, and lisdexamfetamine. According to the police report, scales, packaging and wax paper were also found in the defendant’s home upon inspection.
According to Texas Health and Safety Code, the offense for manufacture/delivery of substance is a first-degree felony if the substance is more than four grams but less than 400 grams. First-degree felonies are punishable for life or for any term of not more than 99 years or less than 5 years.
Richelet was charged with three other state jail felony offenses for possession of cocaine, meth, and lisdexamfetamine.
A state jail felony is punishable by 180 days to two years in state jail and a fine of up to $10,000.
Richelet was taken to Taylor County Jail and released on a bond of $53,500.
Massie was charged with two state jail felonies: possession of THC and theft of a firearm. He was taken to Taylor County Jail and released on a bond of $11,000.
