The Maker Lab is hosting an open house Friday from 5-8 p.m. with tool demonstrations and more.
The first 50 guests will receive a free T-shirt and cupcakes will be available throughout the evening. Neil Santana, director of the Maker Lab, said the Maker Lab allows students, faculty and staff to give form to ideas. He said one of the goals of the Maker Lab is to develop solutions for issues in society and tools to make everyday life easier.
“The Maker Lab teaches students and other participants how to design solutions to real world problems that most often require radical collaboration and repeated failure in order to imagine possibilities that previously were unthinkable, and to simulate tangible solutions that were previously unrealizable,” Santana said.
Along with Daren Wilson, Maker Lab coordinator, Santana has worked to partner with other department programs, including the Master’s of Occupational Therapy program.
