Jessica Nguyen, Randy Harris and Dr. Richard Beck spoke at the “In His Steps” leadership forum on April 2-4, with a Q/A following on the 5th.
Aaron Jones, sophomore Bible and Ministry major from Flower Mound, organized the leadership forum because he “feels that leadership is important in our society no matter your job or place in life.” He asked these three professors to discuss different aspects of leadership.
Jessica Nguyen, Director of Second-Year Housing, spoke about self-awareness. Her main goal was to “help students gain an understanding of themselves, so they can lead with compassion, intelligence and with grace.” She voiced that it was very important for students to be confident with themselves.
Beck spoke over the relational aspects of leadership, and Harris discussed what leadership is and how it is displayed in the Gospels.
The forum filled up a classroom in the Bible building even though the forums happened during the evenings. All three speakers appeared on a panel on April 5 to a answer anonymous questions sent in through text. Nguyen said that the question and answer session was for students to ask open professors about anything they needed answers to.
