Volunteer Opportunities for Feb. 11, 2004

Habitat for Humanity needs volunteers to help with a marathon run on Saturday morning.

Spring Season Nursing Home needs volunteers to help with a number of activities throughout the semester. This includes anything from helping with bingo to decorating for different holidays. For a list of activities, go to the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center.

Childcare volunteers are needed during Lectureship Feb. 22-25. There are morning and evening sessions that need to be covered.

Volunteers are needed to practice English conversation with a group of Japanese students who will be visiting camps Feb. 17 to March 3. Please e-mail Laura Blake at laura.blake@acu.edu in ACU’s Institute of Intensive English if interested in learning more about this.

Male volunteers are needed to participate in “Brother 2 Brother.” For more information call 677-7839.

The Big Country Home Educator’s Association needs volunteers to serve as judges for a math, science and History fair. Home-schooled children from kindergarten to high school age will be presenting projects. Volunteers will needed for judging on, March 5 from 10 a.m.-noon in the Hilton Room. If you can help, please come to the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center in the Bean Sprout for more information.

Wildcat Kids is looking for a few more partners. Pick up an application in the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center in the Bean Sprout and return it there when completed.

A Teaching/G.E.D. Instructional Aide is needed to assist “at risk” youth with the desire to achieve educational goals. Volunteers are needed Monday-Friday, 8:30-11:30 at 304 Grape Street. For more information, contact Jase Wilson at 672-2118.
