Students and faculty are working hard to prepare for Freshman Follies ’02, which is on the 27th and 28th.
Practices will continue nightly until the performance.
Students will portray an array of superheroes, ranging from Wonder Woman and Superman to Zorro and Mulan.
“This has been a really fun show to work on,” said Phyllis Wilson, Follies director. The central theme of Superheroes is the battle of good versus evil.
“The theme of Superheroes is an extension of last year’s Survivor show,” Wilson said.
After Sept. 11, last year’s Survivor theme took on new meaning, she said. The idea of a superhero now takes on several different meanings.
Follies will begin with the cast of this year’s homecoming musical Jekyll and Hyde singing the song “Fa‡ade” from the show.
The intra act performers will sing a variety of songs that portray the progression of darkness to light.
“It’s really been a whole lot of fun,” said Landon Brown, freshman undeclared major from Mineral Wells, who plays Batman in the intra act performances.
The large chorus this year will feature students as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Tickets can be purchased at ACU ticket windows or at freshmanfollies.com.
