A People Party Productions hosted their annual craft fair Saturday at The Mill Winery from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The craft fair featured over 40 artisans, live music, a bake sale and many of the local food trucks. Items such as jewelry, handmade soaps, T-shirts and home decorations were featured.
Jen Harmel, owner and curator of A People Party Productions (APPP), is an ACU alumna of 2006 with a B.A. in graphic design.
“Our craft fair is a full on outdoor festival/market experience with live music, artisans and local business, food trucks and the ambiance of the outdoor venue, The Mill Winery,” Harmel said. “It’s a communal, friendly, family-fun, artsy experience.”
This year APPP extended the hours of the craft fair to match those of the winery. The Night Show featured bands from all over Texas, ranging from electronic to folk music. Wes Robbins, a current ACU student performed. Hogan and Moss, the headliners of the craft fair, describe themselves as “scorch-folk” and have shared the stage with artists such as Terrie Hendrix and Lloyd Mains.
“We’ll also have Fizz & Flair, a local traveling DIY workshop business that has some great 30-minute DIY Christmas wrapping paper workshops you can sign up to attend for $10,” Harmel said. “You can do so on their website at fizzandflair.com or the day of the event.”
The craft fair took place under a covered pavilion and with access to fire pits, thriving even in Saturday’s cold weather. Harmel said people can get involved by coming out to the fair and supporting the local vendors, artisans and food trucks so events like this can continue.
“APPP is always looking for more student talent and volunteers,” Harmel said. We would love to hear from any students interested in learning more about our events and how they can get involved.”
Harmel said she encourages people to keep up with APPP on social media in order to track events and local businesses as well as connect with other vendors and musicians.
“It’s definitely an event you don’t want to miss with just about everything you can think of,” Harmel said. “Also, a huge thank you to all of our sponsors: BAACKS Florist & Greenhouse, Hashi Teppan Grill, BARR Roofing, Tea2Go, Beltway Coffee Co. and Simply Encourage Photo Booth.”
