Wingstop on the north side opened two months ago with plans to hire college students and host a college kick-off come September.
The restaurant opened June 15 on Highway 351 east of Panda Express and is owned by Shagu and Iraj Agahi. The Agahis have owned the Wingstop on Buffalo Gap Road since 2002 and said they received overwhelming requests to open a Wing Stop on the north side of town.
“To cater to the students and the residents in the north side, we decided it’s time we make it available,” Shagu Agahi said.
The Agahis said online ordering, low prices and the outdoor patio will make this new location appealing to college students. And they said the store will be open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. They are hiring both full-time and part-time positions and said they will work with students’ schedules. Students should apply in person.
Wingstop will host a college kick-off party with a “Take 5” event Sept. 10 to coincide with Family Weekend. Giveaways will include T-shirts, cups and selfie-sticks.
The Agahis said this store is the first Wingstop franchise to be decorated in a new style developed by the Dallas-based restaurant chain.
