Volunteer Opportunities for Feb. 24, 2004

Childcare volunteers are needed during Lectureship Tuesday and Wednesday. There are morning and evening sessions that need to be covered.

The House That Kerry Built, an organization that provides services for medically fragile children, requests a volunteer to create two Web sites. Contact the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center in the Bean Sprout for more information.

Volunteers are needed to practice English conversation with a group of Japanese students who will be visiting until March 3. Please e-mail Laura Blake at laura.blake@acu.edu in the Institute of Intensive English if interested in learning more about this.

The Big Country Home Educator’s Association needs volunteers to judge a math, science and history fair. Volunteers are needed March 5 from 10 a.m.-noon in the Hilton Room. If you can help, go to the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center for more information.

Just People Inc. needs teaching/G.E.D. instructional aides to assist at-risk youth with the desire to achieve educational goals, including G.E.D. requirements and/or equivalency goals for acceptance into high school. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, 8:30-11:30 a.m. at 305 Grape St. For more information, contact Jase Wilson at 672-2118.
