Dr. Jerry Taylor will deliver a commencement address to 155 undergraduates and 55 graduate students at ACU’s December Commencement Ceremony Friday. The ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Moody Coliseum.
Bart Herridge, registrar and director of academic records, said last year’s December graduating class consisted of 200 students.
Taylor, assistant professor of Bible, will deliver his first commencement address at ACU. He has given two previous graduation charges at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell.
“I’m going to encourage the graduates the best that I can to appreciate the ACU experience and to approach the future without being anxious,” Taylor said.
He said he wants the graduates to appreciate their education at ACU, and to go forward into the world to use that education. He said commencement addresses are a chance to celebrate successes.
“My goal is to appreciate the graduates, their parents and the contributions they’ve made,” Taylor said. “I want to encourage the graduates to live life in such a way that we’ve encouraged them to live while they were here and to enter the word as agents of change for the glory of God.”
