UP raises rates, offers discount

February 17, 2012 by Hannah Barnes

University Park apartments will offer current year rates to anyone who signs a lease for next year before the end of February.

The current rate for a 2-bedroom academic is $575, while the 2012-2013 rate will increase to $605.

Melanie Kirkland, director of marketing and sales at UP, sees the promotion as a way to help students.

“We decided to do it because we really want to try and help students save as much money as possible,” Kirkland said.

Several factors led UP to believe February the best time for the promotion.

“We are offering it this month because we know that February is such a critical time when a student is deciding a place to live,” Kirkland said. “So we wanted to catch their attention.”

Kirkland also believes that Sing Song weekend is a good time for housing decisions to be made.

“It is the perfect time to get the parents attention and have the family here,” Kirkland said. “They can all make a decision together.”

Along with the February promotion, UP is offering a Sing Song weekend promotion.

“Sing Song open house is an annual event,” Kirkland said. “It’s open for anyone but is especially geared for sophomore and junior students who are interested in housing for next year.”

Sing Song open house will be Saturday, from 10 am – 4 pm. Application fee and deposit will be waived if one decides to sign a lease during the open house.
