Residents at University Park Apartments headed home for the summer don’t have to move their things out of their apartment only to move back for the fall semester.
“We are offering summer storage to our current residents and to anyone that leases with us for the Fall,” said Guy Stuart, said interim director of University Park.
Current residents are also being offered the storage that begins May 13, the day after the spring semester ends, at a rate of $450 for the entire summer.
Residents staying in their apartment for any reason, including summer classes, will be charged on a case-by-case basis.
“It is a great way of offering our residents a convenient alternative to packing up for the summer,” said Resident Director of University Park, Jordan Hatcher.
Hatcher said items being stored will be kept behind locked doors.
“The items will be locked away in their apartment and we will keep an eye on apartments like we typically do, but we will not be going into their apartment during the summer,” Hatcher said.
Once summer ends, residents will pick up their permanent key in the clubhouse and will be checked in by the staff and they will be able to begin living in the space immediately.
“Residents enjoy having summer storage as an option, so the response is always good. Our facilities are nearly completely full through out the summer,” Hatcher said.
Hatcher said the facilities are nearly at capacity, and now storage and leasing for the coming year is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
