The Students’ Association will provide snow cones for students during finals week.
Rodney Johnson, sophomore class president, introduced a bill to provide snow cones during the SA meeting Wednesday. Passing unanimously, Congress will allocate $500 from its congressional project fund to pay for the snow cones.
Many details are uncertain. The day will likely either be Dead Day or the first day of finals; the location of the snow cone truck could be on the campus lawn or by the GATA fountain. However, Johnson did say that Cone Ice was able to provide the best price.
“We have a good relationship with Cone Ice,” Johnson said. “We’ve used them before for other events.”
SA has spent $1,350 of its $3,000 congressional project fund this semester, with $1,650 remaining. Congress spent the rest of the meeting brainstorming ways to spend the remaining funds.
SA meetings are conducted Wednesdays at 5:15 p.m. in the Onstead-Packer Biblical Studies Building Room 114. Meetings are public and anyone is welcome to attend.
