The Bean will host a pop-up farmers market on Nov. 29.
Most of the products will be ordered from local produce vendors within a 100-mile radius. Students will be able to purchase all different kinds of fruits and vegetables from local farms without having to leave campus.
The farmer’s market will be in the Quad if the weather permits. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside the Campus Center.
“We order most of these products from our local produce vendor,” said Nick Norris, director of dining services. “They are what you eat on a day to day basis in our locations. This is a market that we do ourselves. This allows us to explore many local vendors instead of keeping it to a minimum of one or two. No local vendors will actually attend this market.”
