Weekly Highlight Report for March 7 – March 14, 2023

03/07/2023 11:40 p.m.  Welfare Check Nelson Hall

ACU PD was contacted to conduct a welfare check on student by their parents, the student was contacted and advised to speak with their parents. 

 

03/08/2023 12:00 a.m.  Alarm Bullock Hall

ACU PD responded to Bullock Hall for a fire alarm. The Abilene Fire Department responded, there were no signs of a fire emergency. False alarm. 

 

03/09/2023 5:00 p.m Suspicious Person Dillard Hall

ACU PD responded to reports of a suspicious person walking around the grassy area of Dillard Hall. Officers responded but were unable to locate the suspect. 

 

03/11/2023 12:40 a.m.  Disturbance 800 Block of Kenwood Dr

ACU PD and APD responded to reports of a disturbance in which two unknown suspects attempted to enter a parked vehicle with the victim sitting inside. The suspects fled when the victim called for help. 

 

03/12/2023 10:00 a.m.  Alarm Williams Performing Arts Center

ACU PD responded to Williams Performing Arts Center for a fire alarm. Officers did not locate any fire emergency, false alarm.

Chief’s Tip of the Week: Please remember to obey all posted signs in regards to parking regulations, specifically fire lanes or blocking driveways. This prevents congestion on the roadways in and around ACU and keeps you from receiving a citation.
