This year’s Boo Bash is returning to campus Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the library parking lot. ACUPD will be grilling hot dogs for the first 100 people; put on by the Campus Activities Board, 2026’s Boo Bash will be different from the year before.
Each year, CAB puts in the effort to make each Boo Bash unique and worth coming to. This year is no exception; there will be no haunted house due to Traditions Hall being in use for housing, and grievances about the line taking a long time, said Keith Gray, president of CAB and a senior health sciences major from Houston.
Instead of the haunted house, CAB will put on carnival rides and inflatables similar to those at the West Texas Fair and Rodeo, said Maddie Grace Fridge, coordinator of student engagement.
There will be multiple competitions throughout the night, including a booth decorating contest, a pie-eating contest, and a costume contest. The winner of the booth decorating contest will receive $250 to their organization, Gray said.
“CAB is working really hard to put together an event that is both fun for families with young kids and also college adults,” Fridge said.
CAB started the event to get more student involvement around homecoming and in the middle of the semester. Their intention is to let students know that CAB is there to support them “even if that support looks like showing up through some type of fun event,” Gray said. They have had a great turnout in the past and this will be their third year putting it on.
There will be live performers such as the Follies winners and dancers. CAB is hoping that students will want to stay and have a good time and put in effort for the booth decorating and competitions, Fridge said.
